Abstract

Solar energy has become a critical component of Uzbekistan’s strategy to transition to a green economy. Due to its advantageous geographical location, Uzbekistan is well-positioned to use solar energy as a sustainable energy source to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and meet growing energy needs. This article examines the role of solar energy in Uzbekistan’s transition to a green economy, focusing on public policies, technological advances, and investment opportunities. It also examines the environmental and economic benefits of expanding solar capacity, as well as challenges posed by infrastructure limitations, financing gaps, and regulatory barriers. By analyzing current initiatives and future prospects, the study provides insights into how solar energy can contribute to a more sustainable and flexible energy sector in Uzbekistan.
