ASSESSING UZBEKISTAN'S NATIONALLY DETERMINED CONTRIBUTIONS (NDCS) FOR CO2 EMISSION REDUCTION
Main Article Content
Abstract
Uzbekistan’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) represent the country’s commitment to reducing CO2 emissions as part of its obligations under the Paris Agreement. This paper assesses Uzbekistan’s NDCs, focusing on the feasibility of its CO2 emission reduction targets, the strategies adopted, and the progress made toward achieving these goals. The analysis examines key sectors, including energy, industry, and transportation, and evaluates the role of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and policy reforms in driving emission reductions. Additionally, the paper identifies challenges, such as financial constraints, technological gaps, and regulatory barriers, that may hinder Uzbekistan's ability to meet its NDC targets. The study concludes with recommendations for strengthening Uzbekistan's climate commitments and enhancing its capacity to achieve meaningful emission reductions.
