Abstract
The article examines the peculiarities of teaching foreign languages in Uzbekistan and the factors influencing the choice of methods of teaching foreign languages, among which should be mentioned, first of all, social, economic, methodological and individual factors. In addition, the socio-cultural context of learning foreign languages is emphasized, including categories such as similarities or differences between cultures, the country of the language being studied and one's own country, the remoteness or proximity of the country of the language being studied to the country where this language is being studied. There is no doubt that the changes taking place in the world, and especially in a particular country, have a profound impact on the system and methods of teaching foreign languages.
