Key aspects of preparing patients for investigations are covered, including explanation of procedures, history taking and compliance. We also provide statistical evidence of the impact of quality nursing care in reducing patient anxiety and improving the accuracy of test results. Particular attention is paid to the care of patients during and after laboratory tests, including monitoring conditions, providing comfort, and communicating results.
