WAYS TO ENHANCE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ENTREPRENEURIAL ENTITIES IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: A CASE STUDY OF SURKHANDARYA REGION

Abstract

This paper explores the role of entrepreneurship in fostering economic development in Surkhandarya Region, Uzbekistan, and identifies key strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of entrepreneurial entities in the region. Despite significant challenges, such as limited access to finance, bureaucratic barriers, and a lack of skilled labor, Surkhandarya possesses substantial potential for growth, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, natural resources, and small-scale manufacturing. The paper suggests several strategies to overcome these obstacles and boost entrepreneurship, including improving access to finance through local credit institutions, government grants, and venture capital; enhancing skills and education through vocational training and public-private partnerships; reducing bureaucratic barriers by simplifying business registration and tax policies; and developing critical infrastructure, particularly in transportation and digital connectivity. By implementing these strategies, Surkhandarya can unlock the potential of its entrepreneurial sector and contribute to broader economic development in Uzbekistan.
