THE IMPACT OF NUTRITION ON CHILD DEVELOPMENT: AN ANALYSIS OF CURRENT RESEARCH AND PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS

The article analyzes the impact of nutrition on the physical and mental development of children, which is a critical aspect of pediatrics and pediatric medicine. Nutrition plays a key role in ensuring normal growth and development of children, as well as in the formation of their cognitive functions and emotional state. The basic components of a balanced diet, including macronutrients (proteins, fats, and carbohydrates) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), and their impact on physiologic processes in the pediatric body are reviewed.
Special attention is given to the consequences of poor nutrition, such as deficiencies in essential nutrients that can lead to stunted growth, weakened immune systems, and the development of chronic diseases, including obesity and type 2 diabetes. The results of recent epidemiologic studies confirming the association between diet quality and morbidity among children are discussed.
Finally, the article provides recommendations for parents and health care providers to promote healthy eating habits in children, including the importance of dietary variety, limiting sugar and processed foods, and implementing educational programs to increase awareness of healthy eating. These recommendations are aimed at improving the overall health of children and preventing diet-related diseases.
