WRITING PROCESS APPROACH IN THE ESL CLASSROOM: A PRACTICAL GUIDE
Аннотация
The Writing Process Approach (WPA) has become an effective and learner-centered method for teaching writing in English as a Second Language (ESL) classrooms. This paper explores how the approach, which emphasizes stages such as prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing, impacts ESL students’ writing proficiency and motivation. Drawing on classroom observations, student feedback, and teacher interviews, this study finds that WPA encourages deeper thinking, improves writing structure and fluency, and fosters a positive writing environment. Practical recommendations for implementing WPA are also discussed to help ESL instructors improve their teaching practices.
