This article explores the effectiveness of Task Based Language Teaching (TBLT) in enhancing oral fluency among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. Oral fluency, a critical component of communicative competence, remains a challenge for many language learners due to limited real life speaking opportunities and classroom environments focused on accuracy rather than communication. TBLT, with its emphasis on meaningful and goal oriented tasks, provides a practical framework for encouraging spontaneous speech, negotiation of meaning, and interaction. The article outlines key principles of TBLT, examines the role of task design in promoting fluency, and highlights various task types such as role plays, problem solving activities, and information gap exercises that facilitate authentic communication. Drawing on empirical studies and classroom based evidence, the paper argues that TBLT not only improves learners’ ability to express ideas smoothly and confidently but also fosters motivation and learner autonomy. Implications for curriculum design and classroom implementation are discussed, offering practical strategies for teachers aiming to develop students’ oral fluency through task based instruction.
