BEHAVIOR AND SPEECH DISORDERS IN CHILDREN WITH AUTISM
Abstract
Autism is a characteristic of human mental development. The name of the disease comes from the Greek word autos-self. That is, an autistic child, as if by himself, he is surrounded by a wall from the surrounding world, cut off from reality and cannot adequately respond to it. The etiology and pathogenesis of the disease have not yet been studied. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a group of mental disorders characterized by difficulties in social interaction and special interests that cause different disabilities.
The relevance of helping children with autism is determined by several factors:
o High and slowly increasing prevalence (about 1% of the population)
o Diagnostic and differential diagnostic difficulties due to the complexity and variety of clinical manifestations
o Current therapeutic correction approaches are insufficiently effective.
